The newest console release for 2017 is the newest Nintendo Switch and most recently they had a conference where they made available all the necessary information that a consumer might want to know. The innovative technology of the switch has everyone geared up and excited for what's to come. The first console that is built for on the go play and in home console experience. The final convergence of Nintendo's two main hardware platforms. While I'm all for being optimistic about the future, there are a few things to be aware of before going out and splurging on this console. The best way of putting this is if you've ever seen the movie "George of the Jungle", you'll know the catch-phrase of it which is "WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!". I'd like to make a pony off this and just change on small thing and say "WATCH OUT FOR THAT HYPE!".
Let Other People Potentially Waste Their Money First
If you don't want to waste your money on another over-hyped console or game and then be disappointed by it, always wait at least a few months before buying. If you want to guarantee not being disappointed by something wait at least until the next new year as prices will not only have dropped by then but there will be plenty of games and reviews on the console by the time you buy it. Never forget the terrible tragedy that was No Man's Sky that disappointed so many people that it lost about %90 percent of it's player base in the first few weeks of it's launch.
Some Actually Notable Complaints
There are a few things that a consumer of the console might be worried about when first purchasing it. First of all, the console only has an on the go battery life of about 3 hours. That means if you're going on long trips or plane rides, you're going to need to bring a charger and possibly a battery pack if you take it with you. Secondly, the launch line up of the games for the console is okay, however the only notable one is Zelda. Not only that but there are no bundled games with the console, which means that you are going to have to choose which game you're going to buy after just spending $300 on a brand new console.
Hope
The only thing that I can hope is that the console does well, hell it might even be as successful as the Wii was (but let's not get our hopes TOO high). I'm just trying to refocus everyone on the legitimate worries that I have for people getting to over-hyped about a console before it's release. Of course we still have a couple months to go before that happens, but let's get a head start on keeping our hype in check.
